In many church organizations, debates continue over whether pastors should be regarded as employees or as servants. My view is that if pastors were merely servants, then an aggrieved pastor who approached the CCMA should be turned away on the grounds that they are not employees—but this is not the case.

Using knowledge from my studies in Labour Relations Management, this book discusses key labour laws that relate to the work of pastors. Topics include disciplinary and dismissal procedures, the formulation of valid employment contracts, and lawful dispute resolution processes within church structures.

In my adult life, as a psychologist, I have had the opportunity to speak at numerous church conferences over the past two decades. Drawing on my studies in Managing Training and Development, I share in this book how organizers can effectively plan, manage, and evaluate church conferences. Topics include programme design, logistics planning, risk management, and post-conference evaluation.
